How the Ring Down Line Works

When a controller in the Tower picks up the Ring Down Line, Zytell immediately triggers a fully automated emergency response sequence across the entire airport fire and safety network — with zero manual steps required from fire department personnel.

Automated Fire Station Activation via Ring Down

The moment the Ring Down Line is lifted, Zytell activates visual and audible alarms throughout the fire station — alerting all on-duty personnel instantly. There is no delay waiting for a dispatcher to relay the call. The alarm fires the instant the Tower controller initiates contact.

Live Tower-to-Fire Audio via Ring Down

Tower-to-fire communications are streamed live in real time to the fire station, allowing fire crews to hear the full exchange between the controller and any aircraft in distress as they are suiting up and boarding apparatus. Crews arrive at the scene already fully briefed on the nature of the emergency, aircraft type, fuel load, persons on board, and runway assignment.
